Red Light Therapy, also known as photobiomodulation, uses wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to stimulate healing and cellular activity. It’s thought to work by boosting cell energy production, supporting mitochondria health, improving cellular communication and increasing blood flow, which can accelerate repair processes.
Red Light – Visible to the human eye, red light has wavelengths between 600-700 nanometers and is most effective on the skin’s surface. It can improve skin health, collagen production, as well as help with hair growth.
Near-Infrared Light – Invisible to the human eye, near-infrared light has wavelengths between 700-1200 nanometers and can penetrate deeper into the body, acting on the muscles, joints and bone.
Red Light Therapy may help with:
Skin Rejuvenation – boosts cellular energy, enhancing collagen production and improving skin elasticity. Anti-aging and skin issues include reducing wrinkles, fine lines, skin tone & texture, redness, acne, rosacea, eczema, stretch marks, scars and sun damage.
Wound Healing – stimulating cellular energy production, increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation. Can help with injuries, cuts, incisions, burns and chronic wounds. It is also good for reducing scarring, pain relief and tissue regeneration.
Pain Relief – eases chronic pain associated with inflammation, joint stiffness and muscle soreness. May improve range of motion in conditions like osteoarthritis and chronic low back pain.
Brain Health – potentially repairing damaged nerve tissue. Improves cognitive function, memory, focus and mood in individuals with neurological conditions such as brain injuries, stroke, dementia and migraine sufferers.
Hair Growth – energizes and stimulates hair follicles to promote hair growth and treat hair loss, particularly androgenic alopecia. May also increase hair thickness and density.
Sleep Improvements – influences melatonin production and circadian rhythms. Helps with insomnia, sleep latency (the time it takes to fall asleep) and sleep inertia (feeling well rested upon waking).
Other Benefits – detoxification, immune support, athletic performance and workout recovery.
